Fun, Fun, Fun!

Nathan and I were on vacation last week, but we didn't really go anywhere. It was still so nice!!! We did a lot of fun little things and had a WONDERFUL & RELAXING time off. I actually got more than 5 or 6 hours of sleep for several days in a row. One thing I realized about myself though, is that I need a routine to keep me from being too lazy. It is so easy to be lazy! But it was nice to be lazy for once. On our first Saturday, Nathan, Evan and me went to my employee event at work. KFB rented out a wing at the KY Fair & Expo center and we had a huge indoor carnival. It was so fun! Everything was free, rides, drinks, carnival food, lunch, etc. He even got Nemo painted on his hand! We had the best time. We were there from 10:00 to 2:00, then Evan took at nap at Mammy & Grandad's & then we went to Blake's birthday party at Mr. Gatti's. He had the best day and so much fun. Boy was he worn out, he didn't get to bed until almost midnight. But he slept really well! Here are some pics from that fun-filled day.

"Jeremy Syndrome"

Nathan and I have noticed in our son what could only be described as a genetic mutation from the Logsdon gene pool that has been passed on to him. Sometimes when we are talking to Evan, it is really hard to communicate with him. Even after tapping his shoulder or arm or saying his name repeatedly (at least 4 or 5 times), he just stares at the television like only one other person that we know - Jeremy. So one day when Evan was doing this, Nathan named his condition "The Jeremy Syndrome". Even though Nathan doesn't know Jeremy as well as my other two brothers, Jeremy has shown this side of himself every time he comes to visit. But don't worry Jeremy, he doesn't take it too hard, after all, he knows Jason, Michael & Amy so he understands the Logsdon's just aren't all there. I thought it was really funny that he called it "The Jeremy Syndrome". So now any time that Evan completely ignores us, we say that he is in JS or Jeremy mode. Sometimes we just resort to calling Evan Jeremy.

We still love you Jeremy, even if Sports Center comes first. :-)

Thanks for all the Support!!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all those involved with my recent hospital stay. As you may well know I was hospitalized over the weekend for an acute bout with gastrointestinalittis. I was given an IV with copious amounts of fluids and multiple amounts of drug therapy. It was touch and go for a moment but I survived. I did have to leave my car overnight at the hospital but if that's what it takes for me to be here today then it was all worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat!! So once again I say THANK YOU for all your support and phone calls.

Evan's First Night Away

Since Evan was born, we had never spent a night away from him. But when Aunt Charla and Uncle Mike asked if he could spend the night last week, I thought it was a great idea. Daddy was not so sure, which was really funny. Nathan was going to be off the next day and he kept saying, but what am I supposed to do while Evan isn't here? I asked Nathan if he wanted me to tell Charla and Mike that we (as in Nathan) just wasn't ready for Evan to spend a night away from Mom and Dad. It was really cute that it bothered Nathan so much. But he got a little mad when Mike called and teased him about it. And actually, I was a little anxious when I went home instead of picking him up after work. Nathan had to work that night. But after I was home for an hour in a quiet house without having to say No or don't hit the dog or if you do that one more time you are going to time out, I realized, wow, this is really nice! I was able to read, catch up on some homework, take a shower without having to lock him down lol, and had a quiet dinner. No offense to Evan, but he is at a very demanding age & definitely keeps us hopping.

So anyway, last Tuesday night he spent the night at Bake & Ewi's. I don't think he actually wanted to come home! He had so much fun and has been jabbering about Bake, Ewi, Mike, & Darda (Charla) ever since he stayed over there. He wanted to call them the other night, it was so cute. Then he got his backpack and went to the front door and said, Night, night. So I think we were more worried than he was. But he didn't sleep or eat much while he was there, so after he came home, that night he was an absolute grump and we wanted to send him back over to Mike & Charla's house. HA But I'm sure he would love to do that again, any time the boys want him to!

So I am excited to have the boys over to our house to spend the night this weekend possibly. Mike asked Blake if he wanted to and his reply was, No, I don't think so. :-) So I guess he'll just play at our house and then go home. But maybe Eli will stay with us. We'll see what happens! Of course if Grammy stays, Blake might. Mike says the fireworks scared him, but it could be the dogs too. But we could certainly keep the dogs up for a special day with "the boys". I'll let you know if he ends up staying or not!!

Evan's First Power Wheel

Evan got his first power wheel today and I must say he LOVES IT! It has three speeds: reverse, slow, and fast. The speed is controlled by the gear shifter on the floor. Of course Evan couldn't wait to get in it the whole time we were putting it together, so not all the stickers are on it yet.

Congratulations Nathan!!!

Tuesday, Nathan received a call from a supervisor at work that he was to attend an awards banquet on Thursday, but wouldn't say why. So last night, Nathan and I attended the Awards Banquet for Louisville Metro EMS. He received the Medical Excellence Award. They pick one EMT and one Paramedic to receive this award each year from the entire service. He was very honored and I am so proud of him. The paramedic that received the award with him told me that Nathan really knows his stuff, and that Nathan makes him look good whent hey work together. Dr. Richmond, head of EMS, talked about how Nathan knows how to read paramedics really well to know what they need, which is crucial in their jobs.

Congratulations Nathan!!

A Real Snow (Not like Texas)

This was the first snow with just 3inches...

Evan sleding

By nights end we had a total of 30inches with snow drifts towering over 8ft. We had ran out of milk, bread, and butter and Evan was hungry for a butter sandwich. Me and Melissa decided to draw straws on who would walk to the store...

Evan lost...sorry little man be careful!!!

Thanks Uncle J

Jason and his friend came over this past Saturday night. I love spending time with them. Evan has so much fun with Uncle J because he gets thrown around and played with. So Uncle J put Evan in his new dump truck and pushed him around the house. Evan kept getting back in the truck and saying more, more, more. So Uncle J would do it again and again (he was sweating pretty good) :-). I would like to thank Uncle J. Evan will not get out of his dump truck and he says (and signs) more, more, more. I have pushed him around a little bit, but I have tried to convince him that pushing Mr. Monkey around in his dump truck is just as fun as me pushing him around in it. It didn't really work. Oh and the cute little outfit he has on is one that Nana got for him to wear to church (if you look close enough at the vest, you will see juice from peaches and dried up snot) HA.

Too much time with Uncle Mike?

I have recently seen behavior in our son that leads me to believe I should limit the time he spends with Uncle Mike. See for yourself below.
