Happy Thanksgiving!

This year I wanted to start a new tradition at Mom & Dad's for Thanksgiving. So I printed out some little pieces of paper that said "I am thankful for" and everyone had to write what they were thankful for this Thanksgiving. So I thought I would share them with everyone.

I am thankful for:
  • Jackson's Speedy recovery
  • Mike's Happy Pants
  • Amy & Dusty coming to visit!
  • The spirit of the holidays
  • Purple gerbils and emerald green bubbles
  • Daddy Hugh
  • Everything God gives me
  • My wonderful family
  • A good year and a mindful Father in Heaven
  • Nieces and Nephews
  • For having the strength to battle through really bad bouts of diarrhea
  • Melissa's Bath Tub
  • Loving In-Laws (someone was sucking up)
  • Turkey!!!
  • Family & all the blessings I don't deserve. I am also thankful for all the little moments courtesy the kids. I love it!
  • My family, health, home, changes in seasons, laughter, the smell of rain, and most of all when the kids sleep in.
  • My family
  • Eternal families
  • Momma Starr
  • Birthdays in Kentucky
  • The fact that I live in a free country
  • My Life, for God and Jesus Christ, my husband, church, for all of my children & the contribution they are making in this world (a better place), for my precious grandchildren, Jackson's successful surgery, birthdays, holidays, and every occasion when we get together. :-)
  • I am thankful for so many things. My family and how they show love for each other and how much they love mom and dad. I'm thankful for the moral support with all I've been through the last six years. I'm thankful for Linda, for all she has done for me since 2001 and all the time she spent watching out for me. I'm thankful we have enough for our needs, since over 2/3's of the world live in poverty and we want for very little. Things are tight right now since my last surgery, but we are in a warm home, with food to eat, and cars to take us to where we need to go. I'm thankful for my wife and all she does to keep us afloat. She works hard and is so good at what she does. I'm thankful for Thanksgiving , and being able to tell each of you I love so much. Happy Thanksgiving, Dad

We all sat in the living room and picked one out of a basket to read each other's so no one would be embarassed. I think it turned out really well and I hope to do it every year. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Years in the Making...

So the other night we were over at Mike and Charla's' for Eli 1st birthday party when the discussion of how badly Mike was beaten in GameDay 2000 for the sony playstation back in the day was brought up. Of course this sparked a minor riot by Mike with the classic "uh uh uh uh uh whatever uh uh ya uh". So I decided in all fairness to have a rematch the next night (not next week or next year, the next night). So at approximately 11am the next morning I made the legendary phone call, and to my surprise he was still ready for a good ole fashion butt kickin'. The game would begin around 5 (but in true Logsdon fashion it started @ 6). We met at my house giving me home field advantage and with Mike being the visitor was given the choice of games, GameDay 99, 2000, or 2001. Gameday 2001 was chosen. Blake, Eli, Evan and Melissa would all be in attendance.

Blake, Eli and Evan in line for tonight's game.

So to make a long story short Mike was beaten badly. . .again! The final score was: Broncos 31 Bucs 16 with the Bucs scoring 6 points with time running out (come to think of it, time was running out for Mike before the game ever started). Words can't describe the overwhelming joy I felt knowing what I have done, not only for me but for my family. But what came next I must say I was not prepared for. Seems Blake and Eli are not use to seeing daddy getting his butt kicked. Poor Eli was the first to start in, then Blake, it even caught on to Evan. It got so bad that Eli even tried to hide in the toy box.

Eli first hearing the news of his dads defeat.

Eli trying to hide!

Totally disappointed at tonight's game.

My lovely and fully supportive wife hearing the news of the win!

So Mike once again,

ANYTIME ANYWHERE!

Maybe will have it at your house so your wife can witness the devastating loss in person, heck I'm even willing to fly out to Texas and invade another Logsdon household just to defeat you, and don't think Utah isn't out of the question!!!

Happy Halloween

We had so much fun with Evan this Halloween! It was so cute seeing him so excited and running from house to house. As you can see, he was dressed up as Dracula and has two little bat tattoos on his face. Grammy and Poppy came by, which we loved and Evan was so excited to see them. We had a blast! We had a hard time getting him to come in the house. The Bullitt County sherriff's department came by and they were handing out light sticks. I thought that was really nice. Evan loved them.

Punkin Carvin at the Webster's 2007

We carved the three pumpkins that we got from Huber's tonight. It was fun. We were going to let Evan help get the guts out of the pumpkins but he looked like he wanted to puke when we showed him how to do it. It was funny! We went to a Halloween party last night and Evan ate so much candy! Probably more in one night than in his whole little life combined. He was so wired, he stayed up literally running around until 12:3o. People there were like, is he always like this? We were like, uhhh yeah. He is crazy hyper most of the time. It's like he is on some kind of toddler crack, or I should say speed. Except for last night, it was Tootsie Roll pops, marshmallow ghosts, butterfingers, cupcakes, etc. I won't let him do that too often, that's for sure.

I cut Evan's hair for the first time last weekend. All of his curls are gone now. He looks so cute. We figured after two different people asked if Evan was a girl or boy. We chopped it off the next day! I am posting a couple of different pictures of him so you can see the back/side of his head. The little boy in black beside him is my friend Kim's, cousin's little boy. He was so sweet, they had so much fun playing together. Evan shared one of his slippers with him.

Uncle J, Evan & "Wee-Wee"

We have two dogs, one of them is named Cookie and the other Wheatley. Cookie pretty much steers clear of Evan but Wheatley is just the sweetest around him. She has loved him since he came home from the hospital and is very protective of him. She lets him do anything he wants to her ears, tail, paws, etc. So Evan can say "Wee-Wee" now and he says it all of the time. Any type of animal that we see whether it is a cat, dog, bird, or whatever is "Wee-Wee". It's really cute.

Water Freak

This boy would live in the sink or bathtub if we let him. He screams and cries any time we make him turn the water off finally. It is in sane how much he wants to play in the water.

We love being parents

I just wanted to share my thoughts on being a parent. I think it is the single most important thing in my life. Just thinking about Evan sometimes can bring tears to my eyes. Our little man means so much to me. It is amazing the joy that children (even children that aren't yours) bring to your life. When I am having a bad day, Evan can always make me feel better. Unless, of course, he is whining which I can't stand. :-) HA But really, I can't remember what life was like without him. All of the sleepless nights and other sacrifices that you make for your children seem like no big deal when you look at their sweet little faces. Unless of course they are trying to smack you in the face or pinch you to get your attention like Evan likes to do, just kidding. I waited for what seemed to be such a long time to be a mom and not a day goes by that I am not thankful that I was able to have Evan. Speaking of Evan, he is screaming at my feet so I better go get him ready for bed.

I am finally finished with the world's worst class - Economics. I will be happy if I never in my life see another Economics book. I was even to the point that I wanted bad things to happen to the teacher. I made a horrible grade on my final exam but may end up with a B in the class. Whew, it was hard!!

By the way Chauntel, I am so sorry to hear about your sister Rochelle. Please make sure you keep us updated. Love you guys.

So I know that I am the worst blogger ever. I never post anything and then I'll post like three times in a month then I usually forget until Amy yells at me. I feel like I am so busy all of the time, my head is spinning. Parenting keeps you busy full time in the first time, then add in a full time job and now I have gone back to school, so I am pretty much busy day and night. Not that I am making excuses or anything.

Evan was helping Mommy with the dishes, then he realized he could take that cup and get water out of the water dispenser on the refrigerator door. I don't know what we'll do because we don't have a lock on ours like Grammy and Poppy. Oh well, we'll figure it out. I thought it was cute.

One of the other pictures is from the splash park at the zoo, he had so much fun there. They closed it for the season last time we were there, so we were bummed because Evan had so much fun there. The water scared him when it shot him in the face, but he loved it.

Then the last picture is of Evan in the sink, thanks to Grammy, he will not walk by a sink without trying to pull you over to it and then he wants you to pick him up. If you don't, he lays down on his stomach on the floor and freaks out. It is actually pretty funny. We play in the water when we have time, but he wants to do it 24/7. We were over at someone's house who has a play plastic sink and he was getting upset with me because I wouldn't turn the water on. He kept putting my hand on the plastic knob and fussing at me. It was cute. Anyway, I will try to be better about blogging. But you people need to put some comments on there, like Chauntel said, it is a lot of work to do when you think no one looks at it. Love you guys.

Evan's First Birthday Party

Here are some pictures of Evan's 1st birthday party. After he got the Pooh ball, he wasn't having anything else. He had so much fun, he didn't even want to stop and eat. The next morning he got up at like 5:00 in the morning and I think he expected another day of fun. I was like, that's only happening once a year so get over yourself. :-) And for my sissy, here is a picture of the tower of dee-lish cupcakes. I know I made them, but I have to say they are the best cupcakes I have ever made. I made 50 and we only had like 6 left because everyone ate them or took some home. Me and Nathan ate the rest the next day. HA That is why I try not to bake too much. Happy Birthday Bubba!!!!

Family pics

Just wanted to post some pics of when Jeremy, Chauntel & the kiddos came. It was so much fun to see them and I just loved it when Makayla spent the night. We had so much fun and she was such a good girl. Evan sure did love her and she was so good with him, really motherly. It was so sweet. I miss you guys a whole bunch. Cant' wait until we can get to see you again.
